Headlamp Refurbishment
Today’s modern cars have their head lights manufactured with a plastic lens instead of the glass lens found on older vehicle headlamps. Over the year’s different environmental conditions such as chemicals, sunlight, road salt, stone-chipping, scratches to name just a few tend to fade and yellow the lens, the result being that the headlamp could produce as much as 60% less light that it should.

NCT Test

NCT test centers have become extremely sensitive regarding the condition of vehicle headlamps and will not pass the vehicle unless they are in good condition.
At cardent.ie we have a permanent & cost effective solution. We can refurbish the headlamp lens to a new condition restoring crystal clarity and replacing the tough protective oxidation inhibiting UV polymer layer, this has to be sprayed and baked on to the lens to guard against future degradation from the elements that will last as long as a new lamp. The average cost is €50 per lamp.

Be aware

There are cheaper refurbish processes that remove the UV polymer layer by sanding and then simply polish the plastic lens with compound but because special UV polymer layer is not replaced the lens has no protection and will not last.
